Shops Manager
Up to £40,000 (Broughton-in-Furness)

Strawberry tarts, speciality sausages and wilja (posh spud!) — just some of the exciting products we sell in our village shops.

We’re No.1 in our field (educational publishing) but we’re just as passionate about our local community — that’s why we took on the village butchers, bakers and grocers when the owners retired. There’s lots more we could do and we’d like to appoint an experienced manager with food and retail knowledge to make sure the shops thrive.

We have a team of c.25 across the three shops, so you’ll need to be great at managing lots of people, making improvements and driving change. You’ll also be brilliant at customer service and have very high standards.

The shops are open 9am - 6pm Monday to Saturday, and you’ll need to be flexible and willing to work 40 hours per week (some at weekends).

If you’re excited by planning Christmas turkey sales, negotiating flour (& flower!) prices and learning the difference between a stilton and a plain old blue, this could be just right for you! You’ll join initially on a 12-month contract but the role could very well become permanent! Go on, click apply and send us your CV alongside a cracking cover letter!
