Main purpose and scope of job
To assist and support the Inventory Manager to effectively manage and optimise the sites’ Stores function, ensuring more than 57,000 stock items are available and easily located whilst complying with all company procedures so as to ensure plant availability targets are met.

To ensure that computerised systems are accurate, and all records are effectively maintained.

To develop and improve the stores environment so as to ensure plant availability targets are met.

Duties and key responsibilities - Operational
• To ensure, the smooth and professional provision of a Stores function
• Ensure compliance with all company standards to ensure stock levels are actively managed
• To enable issuing and receiving of goods/equipment/material within the Stores and additional areas.
• Ensuring the completeness and quality of the data recorded on all documentation (either electronic or hardcopy)
• Checking for damaged or missing items and informing appropriate people
• Taking delivery of goods and supplies and to inform customers of goods/equipment/material arrival once booked in
• To provide a flexible responsive customer service for specific requests/need of internal customers
• Dealing with and assisting all levels of customers or suppliers with any Store(s) issues
• To assist customers in the progression of completing their work in the most efficient way.
• To provide help, advice and assistance regarding all aspects of issuing and reorder of goods/equipment/materials
• Storing goods in line with instructions and moving stock around by hand, using lifting equipment or a forklift truck
• Liaising with all parties to maintain Health, Safety and Quality on all Stores issues
• To work with internal/external customers to maintain a service to customers and/or suppliers
• To carry out routine annual and periodic stock checks and issue associated reports
• To organise, maintain and audit the designated stores area
• Actively engage with the Procurement Team to adjust stock holding so as to ensure unnecessary expenditure is avoided
• Loading goods for dispatch
• Ensure the work area is kept in a clean and tidy manner at all times

Experience
• Proven experience in a Stores/Engineering environment in a process plant
• Manual handling and Fork Lift Truck experience
• Working knowledge of Inventory management software, ideally Q4
• Good IT skills, including Excel and Word

Essential Knowledge
• In-depth knowledge of stock management principles
• Satisfactory completion of the relevant Competency Management System modules
• Completion of all other training as defined within the Training Matrix
• An understanding of health and safety regulations
