Together with our network of partners, we provide free support, information, advice, financial assistance and services for horticulturalists and their loved ones experiencing illness, disability, bereavement, family breakdown and financial difficulties.

We are currently seeking a Caseworker to join our Casework Team on a permanent basis, with both part-time and full-time positions considered.

The Role

As a Caseworker, you will be responsible for delivering holistic support and advice services to people working across horticulture, through a mix of home visits, video conferencing, email, telephone and other emerging technologies.

Providing advice across areas including income maximisation, benefits, education, employment, health and social care, you’ll use assessment tools to enable individuals to identify their challenges and agree goals and sustainable outcomes. You’ll discuss the range of options available, signpost them to other services which meet their needs and support them to make their own informed decisions.

Managing a diverse and complex caseload, you’ll co-ordinate, develop and regularly review case management plans, carrying follow up assessments to ensure users feel heard and monitoring the quality of service delivery.

Additionally, you will:

- Maintain detailed and accurate records
- Prepare assessments, case descriptions, summaries and management information reports
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Data Protection, GDPR, Health and Safety and Safeguarding practice

About You

To be considered as a Caseworker, you will need:

- At least two years' experience of undertaking assessments across health, wellbeing, self-care, housing, money, family, relationships, safety and crime
- Experience of delivering advice to people across areas of employment, money confidence, housing, social care, benefits and health systems
- Experience of delivering a telephone helpline or advice service
- Experience of producing reports, case records and casework
- Experience of working within safeguarding frameworks
- Knowledge of legal and welfare issues relating to children and vulnerable adults
- A flexible approach to work, location, duties and hours
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills, especially the ability to deal effectively with people experiencing difficult circumstances and/or from different cultural backgrounds
- IT proficiency
