We are now seeking a Conference Producer to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

In this engaging role as a Conference Producer, you will be key to the development and delivery of a programme of technical events focusing on the engineering world. You will have a chance to facilitate cutting-edge technical discussion and influence the direction of engineering and industry, particularly aligned with the IMechE’s policy areas:

- Sustainability and Climate Change Mitigation
- Future Transport
- Education
- Healthcare and Infectious Disease Control

The events you will be involved in creating will encompass face-to-face delivery, as well as virtual and hybrid formats. You will work with dedicated volunteer members, colleagues, and expert industry leaders to ensure compelling agendas are delivered every time.

What’s more, your role will involve:

- Undertaking in-depth market research
- Ensuring the events programme addresses relevant, contemporary engineering challenges
- Collaborating with senior industry and academic stakeholders to realise their vision
- Booking a roster of industry-leading speakers
- Creating engaging marketing copy to drive interest and build awareness

About You

As a Conference Producer, you will need:

- Strong research skills, with the ability to conduct in-depth research over the telephone or through face-to-face and virtual meetings
- To possess strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deliver through various communication channels
- Good time-management skills and an ability to manage priorities
- Proficiency in IT, including in Microsoft Office suite

A track record in commercial B2B conference production would be beneficial to your application, as would a degree level qualification (or equivalent).

Experience of producing technical event programmes in a technical/STEM area would also be advantageous.
