We are looking for a Key Account Operations Manager in Tilbrook (working remotely 2-3 days per week subject to business requirements).

The position holder will provide clear operational direction to the supply chain services department that delivers consistent ‘right first time’ service execution and accounting. Managing a team of 10 with 2 direct reports, they will ensure customers have an excellent experience of Yusen through consistent achievement of service level targets. They will develop existing client relationships, and support delivery of new business opportunities that enhance gross margin and enable branch to achieve profit targets.

The position will offer a salary range of £38,000-48,000 (subject to experience) and individual health cover.

Key responsibilities:

1. Operational
• Plan business activity and delegate workloads across the operations teams through effective team and individual engagement.
• Ensure Standard Operating Procedures and Service Level Agreements are in place, and complied with, for all business handled by the branch.
• Review and develop existing process standards and KPI’s to improve operational efficiency.
• Act as escalation point for the customer and network, ensuring any issues are raised with their line Manager where appropriate
• Provide timely and accurate reports to Management as required.
• Provide monthly KPI and non-conformity reports identifying anomalies or discrepancies, with counter-measures and corrective actions implemented, escalating any potential issues at the earliest opportunity.

2. Team
• Support the recruitment process for all operational resource
• Engage and motivate the supply chain services team through coaching, performance management and appraisal techniques.
• Provide weekly briefings to the operations team to ensure awareness of operational performance and future planning
• Coordinate holiday planning, ensuring absence is managed within company guidelines.
• Provide operational cover for team leaders in their absence.
• Promote a positive and supportive working environment equally for all members of the team.
• Conduct Company disciplinary and grievance procedure as appropriate, demonstrating a fair and consistent approach.

3. Commercial
• Drive regular customer and supplier review meetings, using KPI’s and data as the foundation for all discussions and actions.
• Monitor performance & cost of all external suppliers to the branch.
• Ensure all department administrative and accounting functions are completed within agreed timescales and deadlines, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and practice.
• Ensure successful implementation of all new business for existing customers, and all new supply chain services business.
• Attend client visits as required.

4. Compliance
• Ensure all company procedures, including absence, performance, holiday, etc are managed and adhered to at all times, raising any non-compliances or concerns at the earliest opportunity
• Review the training and development needs of employees, providing mentoring and support is provided to ensure best practice at all times
• Ensure all company briefings and communications are carried out in a timely manner
• Continuously look to improve processes and procedures to drive efficiency in business operation and customer service

• Strong numeracy/literacy
