Are you looking for an exciting and challenging role in a successful and diverse research environment? Can you build positive relationships with people from a wide variety of backgrounds. Can you communicate new ideas and opportunities in a compelling way that could secure research funding?

We are seeking to recruit a Business Development Manager to help drive growth in our computer science and engineering research and innovation portfolios. Working alongside academics, researchers and professional support staff in the School of Computing and Engineering, you will be part of a team who are passionate about delivering ambitious research growth and accelerated real-world impact, building upon an already strong track-record of world-class research and close collaboration with industry partners.

You will work closely with academics and researchers to help identify and support opportunities to grow our research and innovation funding streams. This will include bidding for grant funding from EPSRC, Innovate UK, Research England, The Royal Academy of Engineering, and other sources, and there will be a significant emphasis on mentoring, developing, and supporting our early-career academics and researchers.

With excellent communication skills, you will be adept at relationship building, whilst also able to interpret and communicate detailed and precise funder guidance. You will have good planning and organising skills, an eye for detail, and a broad understanding of the Higher Education research and innovation funding landscape, whilst being prepared to drive change and continuous improvement within the role.

The School is committed to Athena SWAN principles and the promotion of equality and diversity and is proud to hold a Bronze Athena SWAN Award.

We offer an excellent employment package including hybrid working, blending a mix of remote and on-campus working (dependent on work duties).
