Development Editor

£26,000 — £29,000 p.a. (12-month contract)
Lake District or Remote Working

CGP has been the UK’s leading educational publisher for years — and that’s not by chance... We employ close to 300 brilliant people who make fantastic products that students and teachers love. We’re now looking for a new Development Editor to join our growing publishing team.

You’ll work directly with in-house content creators and external authors to transform first drafts into top-quality products. This will include using specialist reviewers’ experience and your own subject knowledge to make sure every title is up to scratch, adding that unique CGP sparkle along the way.

We’d expect you to have some editorial or teaching experience, and we’re particularly keen to hear from you if you’ve got a languages, humanities or maths background — but we’re open to applications from any specialism.

To succeed as our Development Editor, you’ll also need to have:

- Impeccable writing skills and a keen eye for detail
- Great communication skills, even when giving tricky feedback
- An appreciation of our distinctive house style
- A knack for learning new software quickly

This role will be offered initially as a 12-month contract and could be based at our Lake District offices or, for the right candidate, remotely.
