Support Worker Wanted

I am 18 years old and looking for a support worker.

I go to college and study BTEC Sport. I adore all things sport related. I also love music and computer games. I’d love my support worker to enjoy these things too.

I have cerebral palsy. I use a wheelchair full time and need help with all aspects of personal care and daily living activities. I need assistance to eat and drink as my upper limb function is limited. I love to chat and interact but my cerebral palsy effects my speech patterns, so you sometimes have to help me be understood.

I have a fully adapted and equipped property and wheelchair accessible vehicle.

I need you to take me to or collect me from college and help me with my morning or evening care routines. On days when I’m not at college I need support to do therapy and social and leisure activities. The general shift pattern is as follows but there may be sometimes where times are negotiated with carers around my activities:

Monday 9am - 4pm
Wednesday 1.00pm - 3.00pm
Friday 8.00am - 12.30 pm

Job shares can be considered.

I may have more hours to offer in college holidays and there will be opportunity for weekend work and overnights but this is negotiable and flexible.

You need to have worked with young people like me before and have a full driving licence.

£16.00 per hour weekdays depending on experience.
£17.50 per hour weekends
£10.42 per hour sleeping night shifts


This position requires a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS.
You will also be required to register with the DBS Update Service.
