We are currently looking for a Day Operator to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis, working 12 hour shifts.

The Role

As a Day Operator, you will be responsible for the operation of the weighbridge, main tipping hall and stores at our Eastcroft energy from waste (EFW) plant.

In this busy role, you will drive heavy plant machinery, operate overhead cranes and other on-site machinery, as well as managing on-site traffic for the delivery and collection of materials and products.

You will ensure we comply with safety policy and procedures and H&S initiatives at all times, minimising environmental impacts within the tipping hall and ash hall.

Additionally, you will:

- Ensure visitors are inducted in the site’s safety and emergency procedures
- Ensure all loads are recorded, weighed and dispatched effectively
- Carry out random inspections of delivered waste
- Ensure machinery is serviceable at all times
- Co-operate with operations staff to carry out routine environmental sampling

About You

To be considered as a Day Operator, you will need:

- The ability to operate overhead cranes, heavy plant machinery (Telehandler), and weighbridge (training will be provided)
- An understanding of Health and Safety and Environmental legislation
- An understanding of safe and efficient traffic management within a busy environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good IT skills
