We are now looking for an Events Engagement Officer to join us on a part-time basis, working 30 hours per week.

The Role

As an Events Engagement Officer, you will plan and oversee the annual programme of Authority-led events and guided walks. Your aims will be to develop opportunities to improve health and wellbeing by connecting people with nature whilst working towards an income generation target.

Implementing and developing an exciting and inclusive events and activities programme, you will seek to optimise participants’ enjoyment, knowledge and responses to open spaces and nature.
You will collaborate with groups, artists and healthcare providers to develop partnerships and initiate innovative health and wellbeing activities and events whilst promoting the National Park’s special qualities.

Additionally, you will:

- Manage an established group of volunteers to deliver an annual programme of guided walks
- Manage relevant budgets, maximising the events’ income and profitability
- Undertake customer insight work, evaluate the wellbeing impact, create statistical evidence, and use to improve the events programme

About You

To be considered as an Events Engagement Officer, you will need:

- At least two years’ experience of organising successful events
- A working knowledge of how access to open spaces and nature can positively influence health and wellbeing
- To be familiar with relevant health and safety procedures
- An interest in making events as sustainable as possible
- Efficient administrative skills and knowledge of basic contractual arrangements
- Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft applications and event booking systems
- A full, valid driving licence

A qualification in events organisation would be beneficial to your application. Experience working with volunteers and community groups and internal and external partnerships and stakeholders would also be desirable.
An understanding of the local arts community and cultural events would also be advantageous, as would experience working in an outdoor environment.

Please note, this role may require working occasional weekends and evenings, as well as travel to other locations within the National Park.

The primary location for this role is Danby Lodge National Park Centre although opportunities to work from other National Park offices can be discussed.
