Job Description

Who are we looking for?

UKAEA is significantly expanding its team of project professionals to drive successful delivery of several exciting world leading, novel projects. Covering both our Culham and Rotherham UKAEA Sites.

Working across multiple research and development projects within the Fusion Technology Business Unit, the Project Coordinator at UKAEA will be responsible for supporting project delivery to a high standard according to established project and technical management processes.

You will be a strong communicator, pro-active, delivery focussed and enjoy being part of a dynamic team including scientists and engineers, working on projects at concept stage, with significant ambiguity.

You will also need to take into account the portfolio of initiatives that span UKAEA considering how parts of the business impact one another, to ensure alignment with strategic business objectives.

What will you be responsible for?

- Supporting the project controls team with co-ordinating the planning and execution of small projects
- The creation and management of key documentation for project(s)
- Co-ordinating and providing information for the assigned project(s)
- Updating and keeping track of key project metrics
- Managing project change and risk reviews
- Project secretarial duties including organising meetings and taking minutes

Qualifications

Essential skills, experience and competence required

- A HNC or degree with two or more years’ experience of project support work
- IT literate, fluent in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent report/minutes writing skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Be able to work autonomously, with initiative and minimum supervision
- Knowledge of managing the interfaces and interdependencies for technical projects

Desirable skills, experience and competence

- Project Management qualifications
- Knowledge of quality management systems
- Knowledge of purchasing
