We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join the department of Campus Infrastructure!

About the role:

You will be responsible for projects with budgets of up to £1 million relating to alterations and refurbishments on the University’s estate. This role is linked to the delivery of the Condition Survey and Long-Term Maintenance plan that is funded at £10m per year for 10 years.

You will work closely with Campus Infrastructure colleagues as well as construction and engineering professionals. You will be responsible for procuring, contracting and delivering services either through in-house labour or through external contractors.

You will:

- Own the planning and implementation of projects ensuring that the University’s safety and project management processes are followed
- Define project scope and goals and ensure that they are agreed and understood by all team members
- Plan and schedule project timelines and deliver within them
- Co-ordinate project staff including in-house resources, external consultants and contractors/ sub-contractors
- Plan resources and allocation, including liaison with key partners
- Be familiar with and follow all relevant legislation

About you:

Our ideal candidate will:

- Be educated to degree level or an equivalent qualification in project management
- Have an understanding of the legal and practical aspects of NEC and JCT contracts, asbestos, construction, mechanical/electrical service installations including, IT etc and managing projects optimally within the requirements
- Have experience leading and supervising staff, with the ability to promote a culture of health and safety
- Have recent experience in a similar large, multi-site organisation
- Be an excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate with internal and external team members at all levels
- Possess strong time management skills and the ability to ensure timely delivery of project stages

A NEBOSH certificate in Health and Safety would be a bonus but is not essential.
