Job Purpose

To be successful you’ll be a high calibre, forward thinking and commercially focused HR professional.
With strong and demonstrable experience of employee relations and employment law, you’ll work across all aspects of the HR remit, and will be responsible for the implementation and success of HR policies, procedures and initiatives.

This role is full time position, supporting 2 sites: based primarily at our Motherwell business, with the requirement to travel to our Burnley site twice per month.


Key Responsibilities

• To undertake all HR related administrative activities in accordance with Company policies, procedures and employment law.
• Maintain Employment Contracts as relevant to business requirements and in accordance with employment law. Issue and amend contracts as appropriate. Check and sign-off changes to pay and grading on an individual basis ensuring the relevant
authorities have been obtained and proper processes followed.
• Support the UK HR Leader in the delivery of the HR/people KPI’s for the business, analysing trends in HR/people data and acting on these findings to improve and maintain business performance.
• Maintains and manages the company Time & Attendance system.
• Work with managers throughout the organisation to deliver the HR business agenda.
• Provides advice and guidance across the business with respect to the application of HR related company policies and procedures and employment law.
• Ensure that all HR records are maintained and kept up to date, by inputting, amending and removing data and information in accordance with the DPA and GDPR.
• Undertake regular reviews and audits to check accuracy of HR data, with reference to the site GDPR matrix.
• Maintains and manages the business HR Information System.
• Assists in building strong talent pipelines and managing recruitment up to senior management level.
• Partners with line managers in respect of employee performance management and talent development.
• Supports line managers throughout the business in managing all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
• Support the UK HR Leader in developing and implementing successful employee engagement strategies and plans for the business.
• In partnership with UK HR Leader develop and implement the business diversity and inclusion strategy.
• Leads on employee engagement initiatives to align interests of employees and the business; listening to employee opinion and keeping abreast of the employee relations issues and trends.

Job Requirements

• Experienced generalist across all areas of the employee lifecycle.
• Experienced HR professional with ability to deliver a ‘people plan’ that supports business goals.
• Must be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of HR best practice and employment law.
• Excellent communication skills with proven ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
• Able to act as a change agent and support and influence leaders to deliver organisational change
• Highly effective influencing skills and a strong ability to work collaboratively.
• Experience of developing and effectively delivering people projects.
• Ability to plan and prioritise workload.
• Energetic, enthusiastic and able to deliver results by inspiring others.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence to apply your knowledge and skills to support the needs of the business.
• Able to demonstrate your personal ability to make a difference.
• Proven experience in influencing, driving change and coaching line managers to deliver results.
• A member of CIPD or working toward membership is desirable.


Standard working hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30am till 5pm, Friday 8.30am till 2pm, with all requests to work flexibly being positively considered.
