Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Aerospace approved welder having completed an NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• The ability to manually TIG weld various types of metallic components including aluminium alloys, in accordance with aerospace standards.
• Must have the capability to carry out welding procedures on light gauge aluminium alloys.
• Undertake other welding methods to support the business when necessary.
• Set up and operate automatic seam welding equipment and undertake any necessary post weld validation.
• To operate as part of a team and working closely with quality and engineering and assist in the generation of Standard Operating Procedures.
• Process, interpret and evaluate components to customer drawings and specifications.
• A working understanding of the NADCAP audit and accreditation process.
• Will be subject to successful approval of periodic welding test pieces as required.
• Must be able to be prepared to share knowledge, train when required, holding a QA stamp to over stamp work and be willing to be trained in other areas.

Welder Operator Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years experience of TIG welding
• Highly level of attention to detail and finesse is required.
• Experience of working in the Aerospace industry would be an advantage.
• Dressing and fitting ability would be an advantage.
• Must be capable of working to drawings and specifications.
• A Craft Apprenticeship in Fabrication & Welding, City & Guilds qualification or equivalent international standard.
