Operating over 40 services throughout the city, we take our passengers to Cardiff, Cwmbran, Chepstow and Monmouth as well as providing school services from our fleet of nearly 100 buses.

We are now seeking a Financial Controller to join us on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

As a Financial Controller, you will oversee the finances of our company, providing day-to-day operational management across our finance function.

Leading and managing our Finance Team, you will ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, including PAYE, tax and VAT, as well as making sure that systems and processes are robust and deliver maximum efficiency. You will also prepare financial statements, budgets, cash flows and management accounts.

You will collaborate with our Senior Leadership Team to ensure the effective management of financial resources, and use financial data to help support planning and commercial decisions to secure our growth and profitability.

Managing the day to day activities of the finance team, you will ensure they complete the payroll accurately and oversee our cash office function. You will also manage the day-to-day activities of the Reception Team to ensure they deliver an excellent front-of-house service.

Additionally, you will:

- Act as the main point of contact for external auditors
- Review of cash flow and production of forecasts
- Complete annual statutory accounts in management accounts format
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations
- Steward and administer accounting and payroll systems

About You

To be considered as a Financial Controller, you will need:

- To be a qualified accountant with post-qualification experience
- An understanding of modern management information systems
- The ability to delegate, motivate and monitor team activity
- Commercial awareness, with an interest in business and an understanding of how an organisation works and manages resources
- Excellent communication skills, and the ability to explain complex financial information
