The Role
MB Aerospace Newton Abbot manufactures specialist precision components predominantly for the aerospace industry. The role will initially provide NDT Level 3 support to ensure all regulatory and customer requirements are met for Non-Destructive Testing processes in Penetrant and Magnetic Particle methods. Progression to Company Responsible Level 3 is expected after successfully completing an extended period of experience, training and development.

Key Responsibilities
• Training and examination of NDT personnel, ensuring their continued competence to conduct required NDT activities.
• Control and approval of NDT processes to ensure the production of compliant products.
• To ensure the appropriate NDT method is carried out and correctly sequenced within the manufacturing operation.
• Lead the business in preparation for NADCAP and customer audits across the NDT function.
• Act as Nadcap Special Process owner for NDT, Chemical Processing (CP) including pre-FPI Clean & Etch, and Anti-fret paint application. Ensure that all special processes and procedures are robust, fit for purpose and all equipment and tools in use are well maintained and correctly calibrated. Regularly assess Special Process functions for technical adequacy and implement improvements through inspections and structured audits.
• Participate in and oversee the completion of corrective action management processes in relation to NDT, CP and associated processes.
• Responsible for the ongoing review of NDT and CP specifications, standards, and internal documentation to ensure processes meet customer and regulatory requirements
• Maintain Level 2 certification for product acceptance as part of Level 3 duties.
• Conduct regular review of rejected parts against customer specifications and maintain/monitor inspector finding rates.
• Conduct NDT production inspections as required.

Job Requirements
• Certified NDT level 3
• At least 4 years proven experience at Level 2 in fluorescent penetrant and magnetic particle inspection techniques and certified to accept products as part of Level 3 duties in the aerospace sector.
• Minimum HNC Level or equivalent in a relevant Engineering / Technical discipline.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral), including report writing.
• Demonstrable proficiency in use of Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands whilst meeting operational deadline requirements.
• Experience in engaging with multiple stakeholders.

Desirable:
• Experience of FMEA, PPAP and AS13000 suite of aerospace standards desirable
• Understanding of Lean / CI principles
• Associate or Practitioner of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI), Member of the British Institute of NDT or can demonstrate working towards it
• CQI (or equivalent) qualification in root cause and problem-solving techniques.
• Demonstrable experience in conducting Quality investigations & non-conformance management
