National Security Manager (Healthcare)

We are looking for a National Security Manager to be based at our site in Grange Park (NN4 5FB). You will work remotely up to 2 days per week and travel regularly to various Yusen sites in the UK and Central Europe.

The position holder will work across the organisation and will maintain an exceptional working relationship with YL staff, sub-contractors, and customers. Working and with the Healthcare Team, the successful postholder will develop, implement, and embed a security, audit and compliance model based on the ‘3 lines of defence’, and where weaknesses in quality and security have been identified; create, and enforce improvement plans. Therefore, someone with proven experience working within a Healthcare supply chain would be advantageous.

The National Security Manager will provide real-time support, leading the organisation’s response to security incidents. The role will offer a salary of up to £50,000 per annum (subject to Experience).

Key responsibilities:
1. Risk Management
a. Working within Healthcare Team to harvest and analyse threat data from multiple sources, to identify and effectively manage security risks.
b. Undertake site and functional risk, threat, and vulnerability assessments. To identify current and emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and impacts, making operational and cost-effective recommendations to mitigate risks.
2. Physical Security
a. Develop and implement effective physical security across YLUK Healthcare sites, maintaining oversight of all aspects of physical security, including fencing, mechanical and electronic security and guarding to ensure that asst protection and loss prevention is being effectively delivered in accordance with YLUK physical security standards.
b. Develop and deliver physical security training and awareness briefings to all relevant personnel.
c. Identify and seek opportunities to integrate state of the art security systems, liaising with the outsourced electronic security provider to ensure that the technology meets operational requirements.
d. Provision of specialist security advice to RGMs, site managers and where required to customers.
3. Incident response and investigations
a. Providing real-time support, leading the organisation’s response to security incidents.
b. As the lead investigator for security incidents within YL Healthcare, conduct thorough, reactive, proactive, and covert investigations. Taking robust action, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, providing root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action.
c. Reviewing, and updating, security controls, including the technology, processes, training, and exercising plans.
4. Audit and assurance
a. In collaboration with risk owners and the Risk and Compliance Team, undertake the security audit programme. This will include completing internal and external audits, validating operational requirements and regulatory compliance, and testing procedures and training, making recommendations and driving conformance. Holding others to account, increase organisational assurance and customer confidence.
5. Leadership and Management
a. To be an effective member of the Risk and Compliance Team and to support the Head of Security with the development of security risk management across the business.

Key requirements:
• Proven experience working in physical security or loss prevention role(s), ideally within a logistics or similar environment.
• Proven experience working within a Healthcare supply chain role.
• Contract and risk management experience
• Experience in Audits and Investigations
• Experience in developing and delivering training
• Excellent stakeholder influencing skills,
• General understanding of the organisations supply chain requirements
• Methodical approach and commercial mindset
• Able to demonstrate sound judgement, decision making and creative problem-solving with the ability to influence positive outcomes,
• Knowledge of security equipment, CCTV intruder detection systems and access control systems,
• Knowledge of criminal law, PACE, RIPA, TAPA, FSR/TSR, ISO 18000 outcomes,
• Ability to identify, assess, and communicate complex threats/risks using management methodologies, relating them to the wider business environment,
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders,
• Demonstrable integrity and honesty.
• The candidate must successfully attain DBS Vetting.
