We are now looking to recruit a Lecturer in Art and Design to be based in Swansea, within the Wales Institute of Science and Art (WISA) but will be focused on delivery at our partner institution in Lanzhou, China.

- THE ROLE -

To deliver high quality teaching based in the UK but with the opportunity to spend a significant proportion of your work time in China - where all teaching will be in English. In in the UK you will enable the further development of the partnership by facilitating other UK based staff members to engage more fully and liaise with colleagues in Lanzhou to ensure our Chinese students benefit from the latest UK educational materials and methods.
You will be under the line management of the Deputy Dean, Wales College Lanzhou but for operational day-to-day duties will work under the guidance of the relevant Programme and Partnership team leaders as well as working closely with Chinese colleagues.

- ABOUT YOU -

To be successful in the role you must be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and sustain excellent working relationships in the UK and China and should have the following:
- An honours degree in a relevant discipline
- Evidence of the ability to deliver teaching, assessment and student support at undergraduate level in at least 2 relevant subject areas.
- Good organisational and personal management skills to balance competing pressures of teaching and scholarship activities with international travel
- IT proficiency and experience of using e-resources including a willingness to teach by video-link, VLE, e-mail or website delivery
- Willingness to work flexibly to meet role requirements - particularly long periods in China (e.g. 12 weeks)

It would be beneficial to your application if you have a masters level degree or PhD in a relevant discipline with a Teaching qualification and/or a TEFL qualification.
