About Us

We are the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, an organisation that protects, enhances and promotes the immense beauty, wildlife and character of the Yorkshire Dales. Set against expansive heather moorland tops, each valley has its own distinct charm, from crags and waterfalls to an underground labyrinth of caves.

We are looking for an Engagement, Health and Wellbeing Officer to join our team, on a full time (37 hours per week), permanent basis. Primarily based at our Grassington office, with the potential for some home working.

The Role

You will lead on the planning, design and delivery of our programmes for under- served groups and will be required to use creative and innovative ways to connect them with the special qualities of the National Park. These informative and enjoyable activities will benefit participant’s health and wellbeing and increase the knowledge, enjoyment and understanding of the National Park’s special qualities, nature recovery and the impact of climate change.
Encouraging people to learn about, explore and conserve the National Park, turning a visit into a lifelong relationship.

You will be required to work weekends, bank holidays and, when appropriate, evenings, in order to deliver the activities.
About you

You will have the ability to articulate the health and wellbeing benefits of spending time in green space to colleagues, local and national partners and key stakeholders together with experience of developing and leading outdoor activities or events.
An awareness and interest in the natural world and how to conserve it will be essential.

Access to a car or access to a means of mobility support to meet travel demands of the post is essential (if driving must have a current valid driving licence and appropriate insurance), as you will be required to travel within the Park in order to undertake this post.
