ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of this role is to deliver a comprehensive housing management and support service to a portfolio of temporary and emergency accommodation which will include a range of schemes and tenures.


Duties include:
• Risk and needs assessing complex and vulnerable homeless applicants placed in interim accommodation, in accordance with the Councils statutory duties; making informed decisions over placement, undertaking suitability assessments, taking into account best use of accommodation and the needs of the applicant and others
• Facilitating move-on to general needs accommodation - monitoring and placing bids and managing direct offers
• Licence enforcement with proportionate consideration given to legislation/case law and the aims within the Council’s Homelessness and Rough Sleeper Strategy to eradicate rough sleeping within the borough
• Ensuring property safety - health and safety compliance, and monitor and report health and safety concerns in accordance with Health Safety Policy and Procedures
• Completing regular building health and safety checks and testing of fire alarm and panic alarm equipment in temporary and emergency accommodation
• Carrying out regular home visits to safeguard the applicant, other residents and Council stock.
• Attend and contribute to professionals meetings to support the safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children

ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will be able to manage an ongoing caseload meeting the needs of all clients, especially the vulnerable with more complex housing needs. They will be resilient and assertive when working with high-risk client groups consisting of Registered Sex Offender’s, prolific and violent offenders, those battling addiction, prison leavers and those with complex or undiagnosed mental health conditions. The successful candidate will have ability to deal with conflicting priorities and emergency situations. Managing challenging behaviour in a professional manner is imperative, summoning appropriate medical or social assistance as necessary and maintaining professional boundaries.
