ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about using technology to make a real difference in how local government delivers for its community. This role is all about shaping digital solutions. From building smarter workflows on low-code platforms to unlocking the power of Microsoft 365, AI, and data insights. You’ll work closely with teams across the organisation to understand their needs, design innovative solutions, and help us get the most out of the tools we already have. If you enjoy problem-solving, experimenting with technology, and making ideas a reality, this is your chance to lead digital change at the heart of local services.

The post holder will:
• Lead on developing digital projects, using business analysis methodology to scope and plan the project, through to delivery. Specifically these projects will relate to developing the use of technology within the Council and delivering new digital solutions for customers, including developing solutions on the council’s in house low code platform.
• Use staff and customer insights to create effective, engaging digital services with a customer-focused approach.
• Motivate the drive for a modern, mobile and agile workforce, championing a digital approach in service areas.
• Take the lead for managing digital development projects and deciding methodology. For example, Waterfall/Agile.
• Carry out stakeholder management and problem/issue escalation for projects.
• Contribute to the implementation of the organisation’s Digital Strategy.
• Be familiar with the Government’s Digital Service (GDS) and make sure all digital projects follow GDS guidelines and industry best practices whenever suitable.
