The Role

As Senior Operations Manager, you will lead the end-to-end performance of the warehouse and distribution operation ensuring the efficient flow of goods into, through, and out of the site, while maintaining an unrelenting focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. You will champion lean principles, drive continuous improvement, and ensure that Bunzl remains an efficient, cost-effective, and operationally excellent business.

Key Responsibilities

Lead warehouse operations to deliver high service levels while maintaining costs within budget

Provide regular and ad-hoc operational reporting and insights

Drive performance management and coaching, ensuring all warehouse staff meet required standards

Identify training needs and ensure development plans are effectively delivered

Maintain accurate stock management and inventory control in line with budget

Oversee fleet operations in accordance with legal requirements, EHS standards and Bunzl transport policy

Embed a strong customer-focused culture across all operational teams

Ensure customer queries are handled promptly and professionally

Monitor customer service levels and implement corrective action where performance falls short

About You

Strong ability to use KPIs to measure, analyse, and improve operational performance

Demonstrable experience leading and motivating high-performing warehouse or distribution teams

Proven supervisory or management experience in a high-volume, low-margin distribution environment

A proactive leader who can translate strategic objectives into clear, actionable plans
