If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our Corporate Services Team, as the Governance and Compliance Officer, on a permanent, part time basis.

The Role

As Governance and Compliance Officer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring transparency, accountability and legal compliance across the Authority. Working closely with the Director of Corporate Services, you’ll lead on data protection, access to information, complaints handling and support procurement and contract management.

You’ll also act as the Authority’s designated:
• Data Protection Co-ordinating Officer - managing subject access requests and advising on legislation
• Access to Information Officer - coordinating responses and maintaining relevant policies
• Complaints Officer - first point of contact and policy lead
• Responsible Person for the Yoredale office building in Bainbridge

In addition, you’ll maintain key registers, policies and governance processes to ensure statutory obligations are met and upheld.


About you

You’ll bring experience in governance or compliance, a strong understanding of data protection and access to information legislation, and have excellent organisational and IT skills. You’ll be confident managing sensitive information with discretion, working independently and contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
