The Role
We are looking for a Cycle Hire Hub Assistant to help us deliver an outstanding visitor experience at our Ashbourne and Parsley Hay cycle hire centres.
In this role, you will support the day-to-day operation of the cycle hire hub, sharing your enthusiasm for cycling and helping visitors make the most of their time in the Peak District. You will advise customers on suitable bikes for their needs (including adult, child, electric and accessible cycles), ensure bikes are correctly set up for hire, and carry out simple safety checks and basic adjustments such as saddle height and helmet fitting. Bike mechanic experience preferred, however full training/ qualifications are provided.
You will provide a warm, friendly and knowledgeable welcome to visitors, offering guidance on local routes, trail conditions and cycling opportunities. You will also help maximise income by promoting cycle hire options, accessories and retail items, while maintaining high standards of customer service and site presentation.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role based at the Ashbourne and Parsley Hay Cycle Hire centres. The role includes working with booking and till systems, keeping bikes and equipment clean and well presented, and supporting general site operations including opening and closing the hub.
Working patterns include weekends, bank holidays and peak seasonal periods, in line with visitor demand.

This is an annualised hours post (ie salary paid in 12 equal installments).
- 1,264 hours per year worked from late Feb to early Nov
- c35 hours per week (0.66 full-time equivalent)
- Working pattern will include some weekend working
