Waste Operative
Hourly Rate - £13.84 per hour
Hours - 38.5 Hours - Full-time, hours as per operational requirements

As a Loader / Waste Operative at FCC Environment, you will work as part of a collection crew supporting refuse and recycling services. You will be expected to carry out loading duties safely and efficiently, interact positively with residents and customers, and support operational and health & safety requirements in line with company procedures.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working as part of a team.

What will you be doing?
• Working as part of a refuse or recycling collection crew
• Loading waste and recyclable materials onto collection vehicles in line with training and instructions
• Carrying out duties safely and in accordance with company policies, procedures and current legislation
• Wearing and caring for PPE provided
• Reporting any non-conforming waste, unsafe acts, incidents or accidents to management
• Interacting with residents and customers in a polite and courteous manner
• Operating equipment as instructed and trained
• Supporting work at a transfer station where required
• Undertaking training required for the role
• Carrying out any other reasonable tasks as directed by management

What are we looking for?
• A reliable and trustworthy individual with a strong work ethic
• Physically fit due to the nature of the role
• An understanding of health and safety in the workplace
• Willingness to wear PPE and follow safety procedures at all times
• Ability to follow clear instructions and use own initiative
• Flexible attitude towards working additional hours when required
• Willingness to undertake additional training
• Previous experience in waste or manual handling is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
• Knowledge of the local area would be an advantage
