Community & Schools Support Worker (Part-Time)
28 hours per week | £27,817.76 pro rata | Wirral

Caritas Diocese of Shrewsbury is seeking a compassionate and motivated Community & Schools Support Worker to join our Wirral team.
Working closely with schools, families and partner organisations, you will provide practical and emotional support to children, young people and their families who may be experiencing a range of challenges, including emotional wellbeing concerns, neurodiversity, family difficulties, bereavement, financial hardship, housing issues and social isolation.

The Role
As a Community & Schools Support Worker, you will work across schools, family homes and community settings, supporting children, young people and families to identify strengths, overcome barriers and access the support they need.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing practical and emotional support to children, young people and families
- Completing assessments and developing tailored support plans
- Working alongside schools and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes
- Supporting families to access appropriate services and resources
- Maintaining accurate records and outcome reports
- Managing your own caseload and diary commitments
- Promoting a strengths-based and person-centred approach to support
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience of working with children, young people and families
- Has a good understanding of safeguarding practices and procedures
- Is empathetic, resilient and non-judgemental
- Has excellent communication and listening skills
- Can remain calm and positive in challenging situations
- Has experience of supporting neurodivergent children, young people or families
- Is able to work collaboratively with schools and partner agencies
- Has competent IT skills
- Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle for work purposes
An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
