- THE ROLE -
The post of Lecturer in Construction Management and Civil Engineering will be located within the Institute of WISA. This is primarily in our Swansea campus, however the University promotes a flexible, hybrid working pattern. The post will be located within the School of Architecture, Construction and Environments. They will provide specialist expertise in Construction and Project Management as well as Materials Engineering and Geotechnical and Foundation Technology across the School’s portfolio of programmes. The areas of innovative construction technologies, materials science and environmental engineering are considered important areas of development within the school, reflecting a need for practical and industry focus to meet the needs of a rapidly changing construction industry. Knowledge and experience in highways engineering would be considered advantageous. The post-holder will work closely with colleagues in the Apprenticeship Unit to maintain our existing provision and support the development of new areas of opportunity.
The post holder will be under the line management of the Academic Director and will be responsible for the teaching, assessment, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of their modules. The post holder will also have responsibility for the enhancement of the student experience, engage with programme development and help ensure that the programme(s) operate within a QAA framework and in line with University policies and procedures. The post holder will offer teaching and instruction up to and including post graduate supervision. There is an expectation that the post holder will be expected to undertake scholarship, research, training and/or project work, individually or as part of a network, and develop administrative activities and make a positive contribution to the day-to-day activities of the Academic Discipline and Institute.
