The Company

Currently expanding into new markets, our client provides a wide variety of industrial, laboratory, plant, kitchen and personal gas safety products to their customers.

They are now looking for a General Manager to join their dedicated team in Carrickfergus.

The Role

As the General Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the business, including operations, systems and accounts, while achieving commercial returns and minimising risk.

Working alongside the existing shareholder, you will take P&L responsibility for the business and lead the team to enhance existing operations and develop new opportunities for the company.

Additionally, you will:

- Oversee a team of nine staff
- Ensure that daily KPIs are met and any issues are swiftly resolved
- Develop existing plans to expand the business outside of Northern Ireland
- Make decisions regarding customer service matters and spend
- Create and develop relationships with external suppliers and customers

About You

To be considered as a General Manager, you will need:

- At least five years’ experience in a senior management level role
- Experience of managing budgets to agreed outcomes
- Previous experience of procurement, negotiation, management and evaluation
- The ability to strategically lead a team, inspiring and developing them to achieve genuine, positive change
- To be commercially aware and customer focused
- The ability to work well under pressure and manage a wide range of competing demands
- A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, such as business management, engineering or finance
- A full driving licence and access to your own transport
