Our network of 450 retail stores represents the charity in many communities and on numerous high-streets and retail parks across the UK. Our shop teams are the friendly faces of our stores. They are made up of staff and volunteers who undertake equally important roles.

Our Preston store is a 3-2-1 shop, goods are priced at £3, £2, or £1.

Sue Ryder's charity shop team is looking for a volunteer driver's assistant to help maximise donations of goods to our shops in [LOCATION] and the surrounding area.
You'll help the driver collect furniture, boxes of bric-a-brac and bags of clothing from donors providing an efficient and courteous collection service to our donors. You will also support the driver by delivering items of furniture purchased in our shops.

Manual handling training will be provided.

Deliveries/Collections take place on certain days during the week and we’d need your help during the day, Ideally you'll be able to commit to a half or full day per week.

What you will need
You don’t need any experience to join us as a volunteer you just need to be willing and helpful with a flexible and enthusiastic approach.
You will need to have:
- a polite and friendly disposition
- the ability to work as part of a team
- good communication skills
- good fitness levels – lifting will be required

Previous experience would be great but it’s not essential as we’ll give you all the training you need. You need to be a friendly person who is happy to work alongside others, reliable, excellent customer communications and good at using your initiative.
