- THE PROJECT -
I4.0:Wales is designed to provide participants with a choice of bespoke training and qualifications in the understanding, adoption and impact of I4.0 technologies, and the challenge of their management in a disruptive context. I4.0:Wales aims to produce managers and professionals who understand the impact of I4.0 technologies on their companies and their own careers and how companies can introduce and exploit new technologies to increase innovation, and realise new commercial opportunities, in a dynamic and uncertain environment.

- THE ROLE -
The main duties of the post focus on scholarly activities associated with Automation and Robotics and associated Industry 4.0 technologies within the I4.0:Wales project. This project is a pan Wales project funded through the European Social Fund (ESF). It is one of a suite of EU funded projects which have been developed by the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) Centre for Batch Manufacturing (CBM) and addresses the impact of Industry 4.0 from a technological and training perspective.

You will have significant, well-developed knowledge and expertise of Industry 4.0 technologies and be confident of engaging with businesses to undertake a skills gap analysis and actively promote recruitment to the project by participants within the business as being beneficial to both the individual and business. While maintaining a focus on I4.0, you will also be capable of providing insightful contributions across the whole of CBM’s Master’s degree programme framework, including the sister ESF funded project, International Innovation Management.

This is a pan-Wales project and you will be required to travel throughout Wales, with the opportunity to work across international boundaries and in different commercial / industrial cultures and environments.

Annual leave entitlement is 35 days annual leave per year (plus 8 bank holidays & 4 University closure days)
