- THE ROLE -
Working in a dynamic team using ‘Agile Scrum’ workload planning, the role of the Principal Systems Development Officer is to design, code, test, and analyse software programs and applications, focusing on processes associated with the student journey. Adopting Agile principles, the post holder will be responsible for delivering working software frequently, in continuous delivery cycles. The aim will be to improve both applicant, student and staff experience of University software, by implementing simple interfaces with efficient workflows - this will involve frequent liaison with colleagues and stakeholders to capture emerging requirements and define targeted software solutions for them.

You will work remotely whilst the COVID-19 situation necessitates working from home, but your primary location will be in either Carmarthen or Swansea (base negotiable).

- REQUIREMENTS -
You will need to have:
• Previous experience of software development
• Excellent knowledge of SQL and other programming languages
• Previous experience in providing high-quality software systems support
• Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
• Evidence of stakeholder engagement to capture requirements and define targeted software solutions

• Annual leave entitlement is 28 days annual leave per year (plus 8 bank holidays & 4 University closure days)
