- THE ROLE -
Working in a dynamic team using ‘Agile Scrum’ workload planning, the role of the Principal Systems Development Officer (MIS Data) is to design, code, test, and analyse management reports and business intelligence dashboards for the University, utilising the student records database and the data warehouse. The post holder will also respond to data and freedom of information requests. Adopting Agile principles, the post holder will be responsible for delivering working reports and dashboards frequently, in continuous delivery cycles. The aim will be to inform all University stakeholders in their decision making, by ensuring relevant and targeted management information is available to support them - this will involve frequent liaison with colleagues and stakeholders to capture emerging requirements and define targeted solutions for them.

You will work remotely whilst the COVID-19 situation necessitates working from home, but your primary location will be in either Carmarthen or Swansea (base negotiable).

- REQUIREMENTS -
You will need to have:
• Excellent knowledge of SQL programming
• Previous experience of developing management reporting via an enterprise level interface (Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Suite, PowerBI, or equivalent (e.g. Crystal reports)
• Previous experience in providing high-quality reporting systems support
• Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
• Evidence of stakeholder engagement to capture requirements and define targeted solutions

• Annual leave entitlement is 28 days annual leave per year (plus 8 bank holidays & 4 University closure days)
