Are you a senior finance professional looking for your next move? If so our Head of Finance Planning & Analysis is a great opportunity to lead and develop a high quality service, working with the Finance Director and FP&A Business Partners to provide financial insight and focusing on improving the financial performance and sustainability of Sue Ryder.

About the role
As our Head of FP&A you will sit as part of the Finance Senior Leadership Team, partnering with the management accounts and business units to lead monthly variance analysis and commercial oversight and knowledge. This is a great opportunity to develop and continuously improve our finance systems and processes, strengthening stakeholder relationships, ensuring an effective full financial and management accounting service is delivered to meet the organisational goals in line with Sue Ryder’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate investment appraisals and business cases to ensure maximum benefit is being generated for the Charity
• Provide strategic and insightful management information, support and recommendations to the Business Units based on analysis of operational performance, economic trends & competitor landscape
• Support and partner the Business Units, developing their financial awareness and understanding to drive commercial decision making
• Lead and manage the financial planning for annual budget and quarterly financial and P&L forecasts, partnering with all appropriate stakeholders
• Utilise key financial information to evaluate and drive business performance against KPI’s and develop appropriate financial strategies
• Work with the wider finance team to enhance financial controls ensuring accuracy and robustness of reporting and budgeting processes
• Track financial risks and opportunities and assess and recommend business initiatives
• Ensure development of direct reports through regular 1-2-1’s and annual performance and development reviews

About you
It’s an exciting time to join Sue Ryder and to hit the ground running as our new Head of Finance Planning & Analysis you will have strong post qualification experience as well as excellent team management and development skills. Strong commercial acumen and a good understanding of the Charity sector is desirable, and a proven track record in presenting and influencing at executive level is essential alongside the ability to motivate and encourage positive change.
