We’re now looking for a Senior SENDIAS Caseworker to join us on part-time basis working 25 hours per week.

The Role

As the Senior SENDIAS Caseworker, you’ll help to deliver our SENDIAS services in the Ealing area.

You’ll lead casework provision for the service, informing parents, children and young people of their rights regarding the SEND process.

Keeping abreast of relevant legislation, you’ll help families to navigate the SEND assessment process, empowering them to express their views and needs.

Above all, you will strive to achieve the best outcomes for the education, health and care of the children/young people involved. You will also oversee and manage a small team of volunteers who support the service and deliver great results.

As part of your role, you will be required to undertake some out of hours work including
weekends and after school/evening times to ensure young people are involved.

About You

To join us as a Senior SENDIAS Caseworker, you’ll need:

- Proven experience of working with children, young people and their families with additional needs
- Excellent knowledge of current special educational needs procedures and SEND Reforms and proven experience of delivering impartial advice and support to families where children and young people have special educational needs and disabilities
- Direct experience of supervising and managing volunteers or staff members
- Excellent up-to-date knowledge of current special educational needs procedures
- A degree or equivalent qualification in relevant subject, such as: education, health, social care or equivalent
- Independent Provider of Special Education Advice IPSEA legal training qualification, or the willingness to gain this within 12 months of commencing employment
- Evidence of a commitment to continuing learning and professional development
- Excellent ICT skills and presentation skills

We’d love to hear from you if you’ve worked as a Senior SEND Officer, Senior SEND Advisor, Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, Senior Social Care Worker, SEN Worker or Child Protection Services Worker.

We are also interested in hearing from those who have worked as a Children’s Support Worker, Families Support Worker, Senior Children’s Safeguarding Practitioner, SEN Practitioner or Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Advisor.
