We are now looking for a Progression Co-ordinator to join our team on a full-time, fixed-term contract, splitting your time between Redruth and St Austell.

The Role

As a Progression Co-ordinator, you will oversee a team of Change Coaches who support people on their journey to wellness, social inclusion, learning and/or work.

Reporting to the Progression Manager, you will provide management support to the Positive People Building Better Opportunities projects. This will include contributing to the delivery, budgeting, administration and compliance of our organisation and project requirements and collating and analysing data on project outcomes.

Managing a small caseload of participants, you will support them to identify and overcome their personal barriers and achieve their goals, focusing on training, education, volunteering and work.

In addition, you will build and maintain relationships in your local area with project partners and relevant agencies to ensure our participants have the support they need to achieve their goals.

About You

To join us as a Progression Co-ordinator, you will need:

- An understanding of how to help people from disadvantaged communities or people with multiple/complex needs to overcome barriers
- A track record of working in partnership with voluntary and statutory organisations
- Excellent administrative skills and experience of updating and maintaining data systems
- The ability to support people in emotional distress
- The ability to motivate people to make positive change
- The ability to manage a caseload
- An understanding of how to create a safe operating environment
- An understanding of the need for confidentiality and equal opportunities
- Experience in effectively using Microsoft Office packages
- At a minimum, a Level 3 or above in Information, Advice and Guidance and/or Mentoring or Coaching, or equivalent experience

At least one years’ experience in a similar role or high-level business administration or project management would be beneficial to your application, as would experience of line management and/or to have completed a course in line management.

A community development qualification would be advantageous, as would a safeguarding qualification at Level 2 or above. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle would also be desirable.

Placement in this role will be subject to receipt of two satisfactory references and a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check.

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week on a fixed-term contract.

Some flexibility to work evenings and weekends will be required, as will the ability to travel to different locations at short notice. Due to Covid-19, there may be an element of home working required.

Other organisations may call this role Support & Development Co-ordinator, Education, Training & Employability Co-ordinator, Progression & Employability Co-ordinator, Personal Development Mentor, or Community Services Co-ordinator.
