We’re looking for a Deputy Manager to join us on a part-time basis for a fixed-term contract until the end of March 2022.

What you’ll be doing

As the Deputy Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running and management of our social centre in Hawick.

Working alongside teams of volunteers, you will support, and play a key role in the delivery of vital services and activities which engage and enthuse members of the local community and support older people throughout the Scottish Borders.

Specifically, your role will involve:

- Arranging stimulating activities
- Serving food and meals
- Helping people to socialise and enjoy their days at the social centre
- Handling cash
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key local contacts
- General administration activities

About you

To join us as a Deputy Manager, you will need:

- Experience of working within a care environment
- Cash handling experience
- The ability to proficiently use industry standard IT systems such as Microsoft Office, email and the Internet to a basic level
- Demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills

Experience of working with volunteers and/or volunteer-led support groups would be beneficial to your application.

This is a part-time role working 18 hours per week on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 9am to 3pm, for a fixed-term contract until the 31st March 2022.
