We’re currently looking for a Community Engagement & Activity Worker to join us on a part-time, fixed-term contract until the end of March 2022. Though largely home based, travel to deliver support groups will be required.

Your role

As a Community Engagement & Activity Worker, you will establish new volunteer-led and/or co-ordinated groups to support older people through the delivery of our Growth in Social Action strategy.

You will create sustainable activities with direct input from local residents and groups which best support older people in the area.

Specifically, you will:

- Support volunteer leaders in ensuring their activities are compliant, safe and legal
- Inspire local communities to take action to support older people through the delivery of area ‘calls to action’
- Recruit, train, support and enable volunteer leaders to succeed
- Support existing volunteer-led and/or co-ordinated groups that need help or support
- Link local leaders together to build local teams and share best practice
- Create and support volunteer leader ambassadors who support other new volunteer led and/or co-ordinated groups establish
About you

To join us as a Community Engagement & Activity Worker, you will need:

- A proven ability to deliver community development and engagement activities
- Project management skills in a fast-paced development setting
- Excellent communications skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
- A proven ability of successfully working with volunteers
- The ability to inspire, motivate and sustain community action
- A full, valid driving licence
