Are you a MIStructE or FIStructE member looking to take your structural engineering career in a new direction? Do you have the breadth of technical expertise, and knowledge of legislation and regulation, alongside strong leadership, communication and influencing skills to be able to fulfil the requirements of this exciting new senior role at IStructE?

The Role

We are looking for a candidate who can lead the Institution’s technical and engineering policy development, working with our members to ensure that IStructE is a lead influencer on external bodies that represent Structural and Civil Engineering.

To be shortlisted for this post, you must have:

- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the structural and civil engineering industry
- Practical structural engineering experience across a broad range of construction projects
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and other regulatory requirements relating to the built environment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain technical information to a range of audiences
- The ability to persuade and influence key stakeholders towards policy change
- Senior management and line management experience

An understanding of environmental and sustainability issues related to structures would be advantageous.

Working Conditions:

We are based on the edge of the city, our office is bright, modern and open plan. We are a small and friendly workforce. As we move out of Covid restrictions, we are presently operating a working model of office based and remote working and envisage operating a longer-term hybrid working model.
