Who are Thatchers Cider?

Established in 1904 by William John Thatcher, we have grown into one of the top cider-making businesses in the world. Now in our fourth generation of family cider makers, we’re exceptionally proud of our Somerset roots.

We’re now looking for an apprentice to join our friendly front of house team to join us at the Railway Inn to ensure that the quality of food and service to our customers is always of the highest standard.

The role of a front of house is simple… to be a friendly face making the customer experience one to remember and want them coming back for more.

The Railway are seeking a team player whose enthusiasm, initiative, passion and eye for detail will benefit our already highly motivated team.

A public facing role that requires good initiative and attentiveness towards providing top quality service to every single customer.

The Role

As a Front of House Apprentice, your duties will include:

- Greeting and serving guests
- Taking food and drink orders and delivering them
- Clearing plates and tables
- Revision of menus and stocked items
- Assisting in the general preparation of services.

In everything you do, it is important that you really showcase your flare and passion for both the customer experience and our products - we want each and every customer that drinks and dines with us has an amazing experience!

In addition, there are various shifts available weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

About You

To be considered as a Front of House Apprentice, you will need:

- Initiative
- High level of personal hygiene
- Good etiquette and manners
- Natural attentiveness
- Positive willingness to respond to feedback / customer issues
- Excellent attention to detail
- To be a team player
- Multi-tasking skills
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Good communication skills

Training & Development

As well as the training you will receive from our experienced team at The Railway Inn, you will also receive all of your apprenticeship training through The Academy of Food & Drink at Weston College.
