We are now looking for a pool of External Postgraduate Research Supervisors (English Language Education and English Literature) to join our Lampeter campus.

THE ROLE
Professional Doctorate in English Language Education and English Literature (ProfDocELE https://www.uwtsd.ac.uk/professional-doctorate-english-language-education/)

We are looking for specialists to be included into the pool of external. This programme is designed to offer English language professionals (language education, literature and linguistics) an opportunity to gain a research qualification at doctoral level linked to their area of work or professional expertise within the UK and worldwide.

ABOUT YOU
To be considered as a External Postgraduate Research Supervisor (English Language Education and English Literature) you will need:
- Possession of a higher degree by research at doctoral level relevant to the remit of this programme (please indicate your expertise from the areas below and additional knowledge):
• Translation Studies
• Applied Linguistics
• English Language Education in comparative international context (primary/secondary schools, FE, HE)
• Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL/TEFL)
• English Literature
• Multimodality, discourse analysis, surveying, qualitative methods
- Clear research competence and recent research expertise
- Experience of involvement in the successful supervision for a research degree student in the past five years
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop professional relationships.
- Demonstrate effective organisational skills
- Apply attention to detail
- Meet the students’ deadlines
- Be able to work collaboratively with the student

It would also be beneficial if you have:
- Experiences in intercultural relations and proficiency in languages such as Chinese, French, Spanish and Arabic in addition to English.
- Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh (oral and written).
