This marine insurance company has a small, busy compliance team which will allow involvement in all aspects of compliance, with opportunities to work with different regulators around the world.

They are currently looking for a Compliance Officer to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

As a Compliance Officer, you will ensure that the regulatory compliance policies and procedures are consistently implemented across our client’s firm.

Working with the Risk & Compliance Manager, you will ensure the appropriate regulatory registrations and approvals are in place and all regulatory reporting is completed on time.

You will also consult with third party correspondents and internal colleagues to complete licence renewals and set up new licences.

Additionally, you will:

- Support the financial crime screening programme
- Conduct regular compliance monitoring desk-based reviews
- Conduct ongoing horizon scanning
- Represent the Compliance function on internal committees and projects

About You

To be considered as a Compliance Officer, you will need:

- Previous strong experience in a compliance role (minimum one year) working within an FCA/PRA regulated firm would be ideal
- Experience operating within a regulated international insurance business
- The ability to evaluate the risk implications of regulations and their integration
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the UK
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

A formal compliance qualification would be beneficial to your application.

An insurance background is preferred but not necessary as long as candidates have some knowledge of financial crime, data protection and regulatory requirements.

Previous compliance monitoring experience would be great, as would experience delivering training and providing support and guidance to colleagues.
