We are now seeking a Data Portal Lead to support exciting new innovations and uptake of the Social Care Wales Data Portal.

The Role

As a Data Portal Lead, you will lead the ongoing development and maintenance of our National Social Care Data Portal. You’ll develop the Portal to meet our ambitions to become the first port of call for anyone seeking data and insight on social care in Wales.

You’ll create meaningful content for people working in social care, the public, researchers and the media to encourage the use of the portal.

Using a user-centred design approach, you will seek out new sources of social care data for use on the platform and create meaningful and relevant analyses and visualisations for publication. You will also provide context to existing data, capture ongoing user requirements and develop additional functionality.

About You

To be considered as a Data Portal Lead, you will need:

- Experience in a data visualisation, data journalism or application development role.
- Experience of data integration, data visualisation, data warehousing, ETL/ELT, big data projects
- Experience of developing online data environments in a variety of programming languages
- Knowledge of data visualisation, advanced data analysis and data engineering
- Knowledge of application development, and the development of APIs
- Knowledge of user centred design principles
- Knowledge of relational data systems and MDM and/or RDM
- The ability to communicate data insights across different levels of data literacy

This position would be suited to somebody with an interest in data management, research and statistics.
