We are now seeking a Training and Development Practitioner to join us on a full-time, temporary maternity cover contract, with the potential to be made permanent subject to funding.

This is a terrific opportunity for a training professional with experience of providing generalist advice but with a particular focus on welfare rights to join our dedicated organisation.

You will shake up the way we provide training, putting your stamp on a range of programmes and ensuring our staff are equipped to provide people in need with the very best advice.

The Role

As a Training and Development Practitioner, you will support the delivery of high-quality training programmes.

You will identify and analyse the training needs of employees, members and the advice sector and design and produce plans for online, blended, and face-to-face training.

Delivering sessions on such topics as welfare rights, welfare reform and debt advice, you will evaluate results and update programmes accordingly. You will keep abreast of training and legislative developments, participate in quality assurance procedures and produce regular progress reports.

Additionally, you will:

- Assist in the identification, preparation and submission of funding applications
- Act as an ambassador at national and local forums
- Arrange facilities such as webinar details, venues and catering
- Contribute to training marketing materials

About You

To be considered as a Training and Development Practitioner, you will need:

- Experience of training delivery (full-time or sessional basis)
- Experience of developing training or presentation materials
- Experience providing advice in a welfare rights-related subject area
- Confidence in presenting to groups
- Knowledge of welfare rights and welfare reform
- Knowledge of assessment processes
- The ability to understand and disseminate complex information and legislation
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office packages
- A good standard of education
- A baseline generalist advice qualification (e.g., Level 4 Certificate in Providing Social Security Advice, Level 3 Certificate in Generalist Advice) or equivalent
- A full, valid driving licence with access to your own vehicle, or the ability to show how you could reliably travel to other locations to deliver training if required
- A reliable Wi-Fi connection to enable you to deliver training via digital mediums

Completion of, or the current undertaking of, a training, assessor or teaching qualification would be advantageous to your application, as would experience of administering and assessing accredited qualifications.

Experience of using online learning and virtual learning platforms as a trainer/ assessor would also be beneficial.
