Charity Shop Furniture Volunteer

Volunteer to help Sue Ryder to be there when it matters.

About us
Our Chesham shop is looking for volunteers to join the team. The Sue Ryder Chesham shop hosts a range of donated goods including women's wear, bric-a-brac and a great range of donated furniture, such as sofa, beds, wardrobes, side board, tables and much much more. The shop also stocks a delightful range of new goods that includes season product, wool, household items, cards and sweets.

About you
We are looking for Furniture volunteers as well as other roles, so if you are handy and relatively fit, you'll be able to support us to display, build and sell furniture. This role might require that you research, price, clean, and prepare items for sale.

Please note - we do have a minimum age requirement in our shops of 18. We regret that we cannot proceed with your application if you are not yet 18.

How you’ll benefit
• Join a friendly team & make new friends
• Gain confidence & customer service skills
• Get valuable retail experience & enhance your CV
• Receive discounted donated goods and travel expenses
• Give back to your community
• Support people through the most difficult times of their lives

You will also be helping us to inspire communities to provide more care for more people through innovating and collaborating on ways to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Full training will be provided, and travel at a reasonable local rate can be reimbursed for shifts of four hours or more, as agreed with the local manager.

How much time does the role take up?
Volunteering is flexible and can be a regular morning or afternoon. You can opt for weekdays, weekends, or as and when you are available.

Why not arrange a taster session?
You can register your interest in volunteering online or directly in store. You can have a no-obligation taster session in your chosen shop.
