We’re currently looking for a Head of Procurement to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

As the Head of Procurement, you will provide a professional procurement resource to negotiate contracts and provide advice to internal stakeholders on procurement policy and procedure.

Developing and reviewing procurement policies and procedures, you will influence and advise stakeholders to adopt best practice ways of working in relation to procurement.

In this role, you will also:

- Monitor and continually review procurement expenditure and identify and implement opportunities for cost savings
- Lead on strategic tenders evaluate bids and tenders
- Manage the procurement department budget
- Manage the vehicle fleet to ensure legislative compliance and best practice standards are maintained
- Manage and develop supplier relationships
- Line manage the Procurement and Fleet Team

Working Hours

This is a permanent, full-time role, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

What you’ll need

- Full Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply (CIPS) qualification
- Accredited as full member of CIPS (MCIPS)
- Experience of having led and managed complex procurement exercises
- Experience of bids and tender exercises in the charity sector
- Experience of change and project management of implementing new procurement policies and practices
- Solid understanding of risk management in relation to procurement decisions
- Experience of managing procurement teams
- Able to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to build relationships with supplies and negotiate and influence to get the best outcome
- Highly analytical with good financial interpretation skills
- A general understanding of Fleet Management
- Proficient in IT Systems: Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. to an advanced level
- Experience of working with e-sourcing systems such as Wax, Bravo, etc.
