Charity Shop Furniture Volunteer

Volunteer to help Sue Ryder to be there when it matters.

About us
Our Garforth store is looking for volunteers to join the team. Our busy large format shop takes a lot of looking after. The generosity of people donating items and the support from our customers means that we are looking for support to sort donations and to help run the shop.

About you
Are you somebody who enjoys a little DIY and keeping busy? If you are fit and active, this role is for you. You will join the team to help out in store with building flat pack furniture, displaying and selling furniture. This role might require that you research, price, clean, and prepare items for sale. It’s a diverse and interesting role.

Please note - we do have a minimum age requirement in our shops of 18. We regret that we cannot proceed with your application if you are not yet 18.

How you’ll benefit
• Join a friendly team & make new friends
• Gain confidence & customer service skills
• Get valuable retail experience & enhance your CV
• Receive discounted donated goods and travel expenses
• Give back to your community
• Support people through the most difficult times of their lives

You will also be helping us to inspire communities to provide more care for more people through innovating and collaborating on ways to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Full training will be provided, and travel at a reasonable local rate can be reimbursed for shifts of four hours or more, as agreed with the local manager.

How much time does the role take up?
Volunteering is flexible and can be a regular morning or afternoon. You can opt for weekdays, weekends, or as and when you are available.

Why not arrange a taster session?
You can register your interest in volunteering online or directly in store. You can have a no-obligation taster session in your chosen shop.
