An Exciting opportunity has arisen at Dee View Court Specialist neurological centre for a dedicated and professional Clinical Educator. This integral role will Develop, lead and implement the service’s education and training plan based on the Sue Ryder Learning, Development and Workforce Strategy. This post has a responsibility for supporting staff and enabling practice development based on best available evidence and is perfect for anyone wanting to develop and progress in their own career.

At Dee View Court, Scotland's only purpose build Neurological care centre, we provide the support people need to optimise their health and wellbeing, maximise their independence and support their emotional and social needs. We are here for people with conditions that get worse over time - such as Huntington’s disease, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease - as well as those with conditions resulting from a brain or spinal injury or stroke. Our expert team includes Sue Ryder Nurses, registered mental health nurses, care assistants, physiotherapists and occupational therapists who are specialists in supporting the physical, communicative, cognitive, behavioural and psychological needs of people with neurological conditions. Our focus is on giving every person the help they need to live their life in the way they choose.

About the role:

The role will play an integral part in facilitating the development, delivery and evaluation of an education and training programme for clinical, non-clinical staff and volunteers to ensure the workforce is competent to provide high quality, evidence based care for service users.
• Contribute to the development, planning, delivery and evaluation of all education and training programmes for the service
• Analyse and collate staff related learning needs identified at appraisal reviews and use the data to inform the training plan and budget requirements
• Provide a range of educational approaches and learning events, including face to face, e-learning and blended learning, to meet the needs of all staff and volunteers whose roles encompass patient facing activities
• Work in a supernumerary role to support and develop registered, non- registered staff and volunteers
• Promote an organisational culture where staff are empowered to challenge inappropriate behaviour and unsafe practice using appropriate organisational processes
• Support the Senior Leadership Team to deliver the Quality Improvement Plan by using Datix incident analysis to continuously improve the reporting process and deliver appropriate education and training to prevent recurrence where appropriate
and support many more key areas in the business

About you
You will have knowledge and experience of:
• Training needs analysis, planning and facilitation of adult based learning
• Clinical assessment skills for non-registered and registered staff
• Multi-disciplinary teams, inter-disciplinary teams and volunteer training
• Different learning styles and application in delivering education and training
• Coaching and supporting staff and volunteers
• Mandatory and priority training requirements
• Staff appraisals, inductions, mentorship and preceptorship
• Evidence-based practice
• Current national agenda for health and social care, specifically in relation to the development of specialist palliative care services
• Educated or working towards a degree level (level 12)
• ENB998/SLAIP or equivalent mentorship qualification (or working towards) Vocational qualifications in assessment
• Evidence of continuous professional development
• Experience in a clinical role in specialist healthcare
