The Organisation

The DEC is a unique and dynamic membership organisation which comprises 15 of the UK’s leading humanitarian charities, pooling our resources to work as one. We are pivotal in co-ordinating the UK public's response to overseas disasters. In collaboration with our Rapid Response Network of national media and corporate partners, we raise the alarm to the UK public and set up easy ways to donate, with most of our funds raised over an intensive two-week period following a disaster.

Since our launch in 1963, we have run over 75 fundraising appeals and raised more than £2 billion, saving countless lives and rebuilding communities.

We are now seeking a Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager to join us on a full-time basis, covering a maternity period for 12 months and managing a small, tenacious, and collaborative team.

The Role

As the Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining existing relationships with Corporates, Major Donors, Trusts and Foundations.

You will provide excellent support and oversight to our Philanthropy and Partnerships team, providing advice on cultivating, engaging and stewarding relationships with donors.

Managing our corporate relationships with key corporate partners, you will seek to strengthen the success of our Rapid Response Network which supports the expeditious launch of appeals.

Additionally, you will maximise fundraising through our Philanthropy Fundraising stream, providing trusts and foundations with excellent stewardship.

About You

To be considered as the Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, you will need:

- Experience of managing and fostering relationships with high level donors and sponsors
- A track record of securing six- and seven-figure donations from corporates, individuals, and trusts
- Experience delivering engagement plans, including event management
- A keen interest in humanitarian appeals
