Job Purpose

To test, repair and calibrate electronic instrumentation and systems on a range of EA Technology products. Provide technical support to suppliers to assist in the delivery of new EA Technology products.

Overview of Responsibilities

- Product test, diagnose and repair to component level. Products are surface mount micro-processor generation.
- When required carry production testing on EA products.
- Provide first line technical support to suppliers. The scope of the supplier technical support is knowledge of EA’s test procedures, associated test rigs and basic IT knowledge.
- Visit suppliers to ensure EA products are being manufactured as per EA’s procedures.
- Work with the suppliers and EA’s Development Team to continuously improve the manufacturing and quality of EA Products.
- Carry out basic analysis of manufacturing and repair data to identify trends in the quality and failures with EA products and test rigs.
- Active role in the launch and implementation of new product manufacturing into suppliers.
- As required build new test rigs to support the supplier demand requirements.
- Maintain safe working practices at all times and challenge unsafe behavior.
- Travel to UK based suppliers.

Academic/Knowledge Required:

- Educated to HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a recognized engineering apprenticeship and appropriate work experience.
- Current knowledge of safe engineering practices.
- Experience of working in an electronics production environment.
- Experience of continuous improvement and lean processes.
- Experience of new parts introduction processes.

Special Aptitudes / Skills:

- Support others and has a flexible teamwork approach to work.
- Soldering electrical and electronic components to a high standard
- Understanding and interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications and work instructions
- Operating standard electrical and electronic test equipment
- Using hand tools safely and effectively
- Excel, Word, CRM, MRP.

Salary - £30,000 per annum
