We have an exciting new opportunity for a Procurement Officer to join our team in Birmingham where you will provide support, advice and challenge to the business on all areas of procurement.

Your Role

As a Procurement Officer, you will be required to manage and deliver procurement events on behalf of the Commission reporting to the Procurement Manager.

Administering our e-procurement platform, you will process procurement requests such as new suppliers and Single Tender Action Requests, place notices on contracts finder/find a tender and monitor the tender message board.

You will maintain and potentially develop the contracts module, discover information on the Crown Commercial Service Framework and assist with formatting and drafting of procurement documents.

Additionally, you will:

- Act as the contract lead for finance contracts
- Track and report on non-staff spend on the finance system
- Administer spend control requests and the production of procurement metrics
- Administer and maintain of procurement files
- Support the production of various procurement management reports
- Respond to freedom of information requests

About You

To be considered as a Procurement Officer, you will need:

- To be MCIPS qualified or working towards MCIPS qualification
- Previous experience of working in procurement
- The ability to plan, manage and deliver work to agreed deadlines with great attention to detail
- Good stakeholder management, including the ability to work with, challenge and support staff at all levels
- Strong communication skills, including being able to explain financial information to non-financial staff
- Good IT skills (particularly Excel)

Experience of public sector procurement would be desirable.
